This paper explores the transportation problem, a classical optimization problem in operations research. The model considers multiple origins (factories) that supply products and multiple destinations (warehouses) that demand them. The objective is to determine the transportation plan that minimizes the total shipping cost while satisfying both supply and demand constraints. Each unit transported from a factory to a warehouse incurs a specific cost. This study presents the mathematical formulation of the problem and illustrates the basic structure using a tabular representation. The work also discusses how various constraints and decision variables interact within the model to identify the optimal transportation pattern.
