The present study was designed to evaluate the effects of plyometric training on motor ability (speed and agility) components in basketball players. The weight of the participants was calculated using average score and standard deviation (M=55.94, SD=13.60), height (M=5.32, SD=0.18), and age was measured as (M=19.83, SD=0.70). The subjects were randomly assigned to control (n=15) and experimental groups (n=15). For the experimental group, the training intervention was continued for a period of eight (8) weeks, 5 days per week, and 40 minutes, including 8 minutes of warm-up (lunging, toe-jogging, straight leg jogging), 25minutes of lower body plyometric training and upper body plyometric training, and 5 minutes of cool-down per session. After the completion of eight weeks (five days per week) of a plyometric training program, a post-test was conducted for both groups. The data was analyzed using the paired sample t-test in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24. The result indicated statistically significant difference in pre shuttle run and post shuttle run (30rep×10m) of the participants (p <.05). Likewise, results revealed a significant difference of scores between Pre-test and Post-test of Speed test (30m strait) (p <.05). These results supported plyometric training can continue to increase motor ability components (speed & agility) among basketball players.
