Abstract

In creative literature, Drama is considered an effective genre for arousing the emotions and feelings of the public. Drama is not only an important means of entertainment but it has been used to educate people and create awareness. In this context, the Khudai Khedmatgar Movement played a pivotal role in promoting Pashto Drama. This article reports the multifaceted role of the Khudai Khedmatgar Movement in promoting Pashto Drama as a potent tool for education, awareness and ultimately for freedom from the British rule. This article shows how the Movement's ideas and principles such as non-violence and social justice were reflected in the themes and narratives of Pashto Drama. By examining the interplay between Pashto Drama and the Movement, this study has shed light on the crucial role of cultural expression in fostering political awareness and promoting social change.
