This article highlights the significance and evolution of travelogues (Safarname) in Urdu literature. It doesn't merely confine travelogues to accounts of journeys from one place to another, but rather emphasizes their profound human, historical, cultural, and educational objectives.
The benefits of travel are numerous; it broadens human experience, builds self-confidence and broad-mindedness, allows for the appreciation of natural scenery, and fosters familiarity with different civilizations and historical events. Travel refreshes the mind and soul and instills determination. Travelogues are considered a crucial part of history, helping to connect missing links. They should include keen observation, detailed descriptions, and a research-oriented perspective to offer a wealth of information. The article concludes by emphasizing that the direct experience of seeing a place is far more profound and lasting than merely reading or hearing about it, underscoring the true essence of travel.
