Abstract

The total life-span of Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Pervaiz can be divided into two parts. In the first part of his life, he was in consonance with Muslim scholars in almost all aspects of Islam. He was, then, against socialism and in order to refute it, he wrote a detailed article, appeared in Tolu-e-Islam, in July 1939. But in the second phase of his life, after the existence of Pakistan, he turned a somersault and fell in deep love of socialism.
With alteration of his mind, the meaning of Quranic words and the sense of Quranic verses began to be tempered. There are so many words and verses of the Holy Quran, which fell victims of his alteration, but the discussion in this article remained confined only to derivatives derived from the Arabic of letters of alphabet (ح، س، ن), e.g. حسنات، حسنة، حسنا، محسن، احسان، احسن (and سيئةregarding it contrary to حسنة).Mr. G. A. Pervaiz has described different meaning in two different periods of his life, as a result of which, a vast desert, full of thorns, came into existence. G. A. Pervaiz always claimed that the original meaning of حسن is not beautiful (pretty and handsome) but proportionate and balanced one and its last and final meaning is smoothness and evenness. To prove his viewpoint, he offered arguments not from the original and primary sources, and not even author’s words, but in his own words. He interpolated the sense of what Imam Raghib had said (in his book المفردات في غريب القرآن) while translating a word, with his additional words in brackets, in order to lead his readers to accept his (Pervaiz’s) ideas.
In this article, not only the all the contradictions, regarding the derivatives derived from the root of ح، س، ن have been exposed, but also, the real sense of verses has been fully unveiled.
