This research article presents an analytical and critical study of the theological discussions mentioned in the famous work Ganj al-Hadi by the renowned religious scholar Sheikh-ul-Quran Qazi Abdul Hadi. Qazi Abdul Hadi was born on 1 July 1932 in a religious and scholarly family in Machi Mohalla Barbuki, a north-eastern village of Mardan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Pakistan). He devoted his entire life to the service of Quranic interpretation, Hadith, jurisprudence and theology. He died on 9 December 2010. The focus of the study is on the important topics related to the Islamic doctrines as expounded in Ganj al-Hadi, including the attributes of God (al-Ilahiyyat), prophecy (an-Nubawat), and the Samiyyat (i.e., destiny, resurrection, intercession, vision of God). Qazi Abdul-Hadi’s style is understandable and balanced for both the common people and the academic community. He presents rational reasoning and Sunni (Ash’ari-Matridi) theological principles in a harmonious manner with great moderation. This article highlights the intellectual depth of Qazi Abdul-Hadi’s theology, the relevance of his thoughts in the modern era, and the pedagogical importance of his style of expression. Through this critical review, an attempt has been made to better understand the theological tradition of the subcontinent and to introduce the scholarly contributions of a relatively little-known but valuable scholar with new value .
