Abstract

"Anwar-ul-Bayan fi Hal-e-Lughat-ul-Quran" is a reliable and detailed Urdu linguistic commentary written by Chaudhry Ali Muhammad (PCS, Additional Commissioner (retd)). It is very useful for students and researchers. Its study not only helps in understanding the meaning of the Quran but also clarifies the practical application of Arabic grammar and syntax. However, it is not a general commentary but an excellent book for studying and understanding the depth of Arabic grammar. Its arrangement does not strictly follow the order of the Surahs or Chapters of the Holy Quran, but only rare and difficult words are explained and interpreted. Special attention is paid to the grammatical description of Quranic verses. Other notable benefits are also mentioned. Appropriate interpretation has also been provided according to the occasion. At some places, there is also mention of the reason of the revelation and Arabic poetry. For the interpretation of the verses important books of interpretations such as Tafsir Mazhari, Zia-ul-Quran, Tafsir Haqqani and Tafheem-ul-Quran have been used. Experts of this field have viewed it with admiration, so it is quite useful for the educated class as a whole.
