Abstract

The research paper examines ethical concerns on sex education, focusing on Islamic teachings. While sex education to youth is crucial for improving sexual and reproductive health, Western society and Islamic traditions have different approaches. Western education focuses on scientific and factual topics, ignoring moral debates and decision-making. It teaches children about reproductive systems, preventing STDs, and dealing with teenage pregnancies. Safe sex practices have been adopted, but alarming trends continue, such as high STDs prevalence among young people and erratic contraception use. Islamic teachings, on the other hand, emphasize adherence to Islamic values in all aspects of life, including sexuality. Islamic jurisprudence literature provides comprehensive advice on sexuality, while the Hadiths encourage modesty, respect, and moral behavior in sexual interactions. The Quran's verses on human development, modesty, marriage, and cleanliness further enhance our understanding of sexual ethics.
