This research has been conducted to understand the perspective of Abu Al-Wafa Sanaullah Amritsari (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding Sufism. It begins with a brief introduction of Amritsari (RA), followed by an overview of his services and writings. Finally, his viewpoint on Sufism is discussed.
The content is primarily derived from a thesis titled "The Perspective of Ahl-e-Hadith Scholars of the Indian Subcontinent on Sufism: An Analytical Study."
There is a common perception about Ahl-e-Hadith scholars that they do not accept Sufism, whereas those who follow Sufism claim that senior Ahl-e-Hadith scholars did accept it. Some individuals, in an attempt to prove this claim, have tried to interpret the statements of various Ahl-e-Hadith scholars according to their own desires and preferred meanings. On this basis, this research also includes a critique of Ibn Ji Qureshi. And since Abu Al-Wafa Sanaullah Amritsari (may Allah have mercy on him) was an Ahl-e-Hadith scholar, this study examines his perspective — specifically, which Sufi practices he acknowledged and which ones he rejected.
