Abstract

Dengue is one of the most dangerous vector borne diseases after malaria and for the past few years, it has started affecting Pakistan too. In order to develop a Dengue Control Management Strategy, Government of Punjab has utilized Geographic Information System (GIS) which played a crucial role to prevent and control the transmission of dengue in Punjab through provision of real time geo-tagged data and information. This paper discusses the GIS based processes and procedures employed in Lahore, Pakistan to develop and support the Dengue Control Management Strategy.
