Objective: Patients with dengue fever may experience sinus bradycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and myocarditis. This study was aimed at finding the frequency of these complications and whether or not any intervention needed.\nMethod: Study was conducted at KRL hospital Islamabad. Approval was taken from the ethical review committee KRL Hospital Islamabad. Patient’s having strong clinical suspicion were confirmed on serological tests. Serial Electrocardiogram (ECG) recorded and 2D Echocardiogram performed. SPSS version 26 was used. Results were interpreted in terms of frequency and percentages.\nResults:Study included 150 patients. Females were 59.3% (n 89), whereas males were 40.7% (n 61). Age ranged from 18-80 years with a mean of 45.54 ±13.44 years. All patients had positive serological tests. Bradycardia was found in 52.66% (n 79) patients. It included 68.54 % (n 61) females and 29.51 % (n 18) males. Heart rate of less than 50 was observed in 19.3% patients. Patients in 41-80 years age group had 6.9 times more echocardiographic findings (OR= 9.924, 95% CI= 3.107-15.434). Female patients have 5.2 times more echocardiographic findings (OR= 9.924, 95% CI=2.561-10.577). Pericardial effusion was observed in\n10% (n 15) patients. Out of which 53.33% (n 8) patients had mild pericardial effusion, whereas 46.67% (n 6)\npatients had moderate pericardial effusion. No patient required intervention.\nConclusion: In view of significant slowing of heart rate during hospital stay it was necessitated to have\nCardiovascular monitoring in Dengue fever along with other management. Female patients and those in the\n5″ to 8″ decade were more prone to bradycardia. However, intervention was not required in any patient.
