The present study is an attempt toinvestigate the narrative structure ofthe short story, The Necklace on thebasis of Bremond‘s model, The Logicof Narrative Possibilities. The researchhas investigated the various functionsof the elementary and complexsequences of The Necklace on the basisof this model and has explored that themain character fails to reach herobjective because of her inability totake relevant action that is a process ofnon-actualization. The research usesinterpretivist paradigm and narrativestructure analysis method to explorethe various functions of Micro andMacro sequences of the short story,The Necklace. The study will behelpful for the students of literaturewho are interested in understandingand examining literary texts on thebasis of the narrative model, The Logicof Narrative Possibilities.
