Abstract

Poetry holds a central place in the cultural and social life of the Baloch people. Throughout history, Baloch poetry has not only served as a medium of artistic expression but also as a vehicle for communicating political ideas, preserving traditions, and reinforcing social norms. This paper explores the multifaceted role of poetry in Baloch cultural expression, emphasizing its significance as an instrument of cultural identity, social commentary, and a form of resistance. By analyzing classical and contemporary Baloch poetry, this study highlights its diverse functions in the context of Baloch society, including its influence on community cohesion, the transmission of values, and its role in shaping the Baloch collective memory.
