Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of language contact and code-switching in Balochi-speaking communities, focusing on the sociolinguistic dynamics within these regions. The primary objective is to analyze how Balochi speakers, in contact with other languages such as Urdu, English, and Pashto, navigate linguistic boundaries through code-switching. By analyzing linguistic data from various Balochi communities, this study highlights the social, cultural, and psychological factors that influence bilingualism and code-switching. This paper offers insights into the role of language contact in shaping the identity and linguistic practices of the Baloch, while also discussing the implications of language shift and language preservation in these communities.
