The Baloch people, native to the region spanning Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan, possess a rich oral tradition that serves as a vital tool for preserving their history, culture, and identity. Oral traditions in Baloch society, including storytelling, poetry, and folklore, have been passed down through generations, helping the community maintain a strong sense of cultural continuity. However, in the modern era, the preservation of these traditions faces numerous challenges, including the encroachment of globalization, technological advancements, and the marginalization of indigenous languages. This article examines the factors that threaten the preservation of Baloch oral traditions and explores the strategies that can be employed to safeguard these valuable cultural resources. Through the integration of historical, sociocultural, and linguistic perspectives, this study aims to highlight the importance of oral traditions in maintaining the Baloch identity and provide recommendations for their preservation in a rapidly changing world.
