Abstract

Syed Naiyer Masood Rizvi was a famed short story writer. He, as fiction writer, introduced diverse ways to weave a story through simple plot and narrative technique, his creative work offers elusive meaning. He creates a fictional imaginative world through his unique style which attract the attention of the readers. Overall atmosphere of the story, remains in ambiguity and illusion and while reading one can experience more than one probabilities.
In this article, Masud’s two short stories (Nusrat-Maskan) have taken into account for critical review. These writings are here melonchdy in nature. Both stories reveal the reality of lontiness and diaspora, which appear at the time of colonialization. The situation (in the sequence of Quints and in characterization) fall of uncertainity and unrest refleses the post-colonial Era. He used various symbols to convey multiple meaning. But, the main concern of these stories, is downfall of great eastern civilization.
