Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can devise new ways of gaining efficiency, accuracy of diagnosing health conditions, and making it more accessible because Artificial Intelligence is changing medical imaging rapidly. Nonetheless, there are a number of ethical and regulatory issues that this field would face with the integration of AI, which need to be addressed to make sure that this practice is responsibly used. In this paper, I will discuss ethical issues, including algorithmic bias, transparency, informed consent and data privacy, that arise during the implementation of AI within the fields of medical imaging. Also, the regulatory obstacles, such as the unification of guidelines, issues of liability and accountability, and international differences in regulation are addressed. The paper acknowledges that strong ethical principles and unambiguous regulatory parameters are the keys to the healthy, just, and efficient application of AI technologies in healthcare. The paper offers some answers to the question on how such challenges may be addressed as much as possible to fully exploit the AI potential in improving patient care and clinical outcomes by analyzing case studies, expert opinion, and data on the level of public trust
