This research aimed to explore children’s school dropout due to the unavailability of schools in their area in Sindh province, identifying the gender and regional differences in children’s school dropout due to the lack of schools or educational facilities in their local area. A survey of school dropout children in six divisions of the Sindh province was conducted using a structured questionnaire. The quantitative data was collected through the survey method, and the gathered data was analysed statistically. The research study found that 13.2 per cent of school dropout children in Sindh agreed to leave school due to the unavailability of schools in their area. Almost 13 per cent of them agreed to leave school because of the unavailability of the next level school. Similarly, 13.9 per cent agreed to leave school due to the available school in the area was closed. The study found that the children from rural areas were more negatively affected due to the non-availability of schools. Girls tended to leave school more frequently due to the unavailability of the school in their area. The study found that the educational prospects of rural girls were negatively affected by the non-availability of schools in the local area and leading to their school dropout in Sindh, Pakistan.
