This study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) affects students' academic achievement, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of ethical use, data protection, and self-regulated learning. There are now worries about academic integrity and cognitive engagement as a result of the increasing use of AI technologies like ChatGPT, Grammarly, and AI-based platforms. Using a standardized questionnaire, 300 university students provided primary data. The dependent variable was academic success as determined by CGPA, whereas the independent variables were AI dependence, ethical behavior, privacy issues, and cognitive aspects. Significant determinants of academic achievement were identified by descriptive statistics, correlation and non-parametric tests providing educators and policymakers with important information on how to responsibly integrate AI in education.
