The field of healthcare is faced with a dilemma in relation to the matter of clinical documentation, with the healthcare personnel, whose primary focus is to take care of patients, finding themselves doing more administrative tasks than they should. For one thing, manual documentation is not only time-consuming but is also prone to mistakes, which translates to decreased performance and potential care issues, and the burden falls on reduced clinical productivity and possible patient care issues. This is a comprehensive study that talks about DocGenie, which is a new AI-powered system designed to convert doctor-patient dialogues into medical transcription and detailed reports. DocGenie is mainly based on OpenAI’s Whisper for speech recognition and GPT-4 for structuring medical reports, creating a pipeline that transforms verbal interactions into useful medical documentation. Research results show that the system is not only capable of improved accuracy, coherence, and efficiency, but evaluation metrics also reveal significant cutbacks in report preparation time and augmented report quality. The new approach of deploying Advanced Speech Recognition (ASR) technology together with sophisticated Natural Language Processing (NLP) finally succeeded in bringing DocGenie, which represents a transformative solution for the pervasive documentation burden in healthcare settings, potentially freeing clinicians to focus more on patient care while maintaining high-quality medical records
