Cholelithiasis, commonly known as gallstone disease, is a significant global health concern. It is the most common digestive disease. The formation of gallstones in the gallbladder is significantly associated with various demographic, lifestyle, and dietary risk factors. This study aimed to identify and analyze the significant risk factors related to Cholelithiasis among patients in Quetta hospitals. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted using a structured questionnaire administered to 90 patients diagnosed with gallstone disease. Data were collected on demographics, lifestyle habits, and dietary patterns. The sample included 12 males and 78 females. The findings revealed that female gender (86.7%) and age group 30–55 years (72.2%) had the highest number of gallstone patients. Most patients were from the Quetta district (58.8%) and predominantly belonged to the Pathan ethnic group (63.3%). Most participants were illiterate (44.4%) and housewives or retired (63.3%). Lifestyle factors such as weight gain (66.6%), high-fat diet (77.7%), and low physical activity were prevalent among patients, indicating their strong association with gallstone formation. The study revealed that age, gender, ethnicity, physical activity and dietary habits are a significant risk factors for Cholelithiasis. Further understanding of lifestyle modifications and dietary patterns can be beneficial in better understanding of risk factors involved in Cholelithiasis that can help mitigate potential risks of this disease.
