Abstract

The Sufi tradition represents a profound spiritual and intellectual dimension within Islamic civilization. Rooted in the pursuit of divine love (Ishq-e-Haqiqi), self-purification, and moral refinement, it transcends sectarian and cultural boundaries to emphasize the unity of all human beings. Historically, Sufism has shaped not only personal spirituality but also social ethics, interfaith harmony, and artistic expression through literature, poetry, and music. Within this heritage, the Sindhi Sufi poet Soobha Faqir (1235–1325 AH) occupies a distinguished position. His works embody the synthesis of divine and human love, humility, and the continuous search for truth through devotion and self-annihilation in God. His poetic collection, Diwan-e-Dard-e-Ishq, demonstrates a remarkable fusion of metaphysical insight, moral philosophy, and linguistic beauty.This research critically examines the Sufi philosophy in Soobha Faqir’s poetry, highlighting the concepts of wahdat al-wujud (unity of being), divine union, and universal brotherhood. Through a close reading of his verses in Sindhi, Urdu, and Saraiki, the study explores how Soobha Faqir’s message of love and tolerance resonates with the broader tradition of mystics such as Mansur al-Hallaj and Maulana Rumi. His portrayal of spiritual sacrifice and devotion reflects a deep engagement with Islamic metaphysics and human ethics. Moreover, the research situates Soobha Faqir’s thought within the pluralistic cultural milieu of Sindh, where Sufi ideals foster social cohesion and compassion across religious lines. Ultimately, this paper argues that Soobha Faqir’s poetic vision revitalizes the timeless message of Sufism a call toward peace, divine love, and the moral awakening of humanity in an era of materialism and spiritual fragmentation
