This research examines Francis Bacon's Essays under a corpus-based discourse analytical approach, paying special attention to the way his unique "language of wisdom" is linguistically and pragmatically constructed. Although Bacon's writing has traditionally been admired as being aphoristically concise, rhetorically forceful, and philosophically rich, much past work has been qualitative and descriptive in nature. Through the creation of a dedicated corpus of Bacon's essays and the use of corpus techniques like collocation and concordance analysis, this study determines repeated lexical patterns and pragmatic strategies supporting Bacon's expression of wisdom. The results show that Bacon's essays build wisdom within three connected areas: intellectual regimen in Of Studies, social cohesiveness in Of Friendship, and age-seasoned balance in Of Youth and Age. By metaphors, aphorisms, rhetorical contrasts, and pragmatic tactics of advising and persuading, Bacon translates sheer moral ideals into usable advice, thus reinforcing his role as a moral and intellectual guide. This analysis illustrates the usefulness of combining corpus linguistics with discourse analysis to give a non-theoretical basis for understanding Bacon's rhetorical strategy and intellectual inheritance. It also shows how computational approaches can improve analysis of traditional texts, placing Bacon's essays in larger contexts of wisdom discourse, pragmatics, and Renaissance humanism.
