In the digital era, social media platforms such as Facebook have become influential tools for both communication and learning. Facebook, as one of the most widely used platforms, offers interactive features that may contribute to language development and academic growth. English language acquisition, being a crucial skill for academic and professional success, is increasingly influenced by online interactions. It is now recognized the fact that the use of technology facilitates English language learning. The purpose of the study were to identify the use of Facebook by students, to find out the level of English language learning by the students at university level and to find out the effect of Facebook engagement on English language acquisition among students. The study was quantitative in nature and survey technique use to conduct the study. The population of the study were (1434) students and 310 students were selected as sample of the study by using simple random sampling technique. A five-point Likert scale was used for gathering the response. Data were collected through personal visits. Data were analyzed by using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). A regression analysis, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the quantitative data consisting of the survey questionnaires. The findings of this study showed that Facebook significantly help students to improve language learning skills and vocabulary building.
