Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of educational apps in enhancing English language learning among Pakistani children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that creates distinct challenges in language acquisition and communication. With the increasing integration of digital technology in education, language therapy applications offer new opportunities for improving learning outcomes. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a purposive sample of eight autistic children (mean age = 3 years 2 months) from a private center in Lahore. Participants completed a pre-test, received instruction through a language therapy app, and were assessed again with a post-test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results indicate that the therapy app significantly improved the children’s English language performance, demonstrating the potential of digital tools for supporting special education. The study further recommends the development of locally designed educational apps to better meet the needs of autistic learners in Pakistan.
