Abstract

This work investigates the Johnson-Segalman fluids magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) thin-film flow in lifting conditions on a vertical surface. The basic equations of linear momentum and continuity that govern the flow are reduced to an ordinary differential equation. To solve the nonlinear differential equation that arises from the mathematical modeling of the flow, we have used the Optimal Homotopy Asymptotic Method and the Homotopy Perturbation Method. The effect of various non-dimensional parameters, such as the applied magnetic field, Weissenberg number, and Stokes number, on the velocity profile is elaborated through various graphs.
