This study examined conflicts among farming communities in Kashmore district (Kandhkot and Tangwani talukas), using purposive sampling to interview 120 respondents. The research aimed to identify the types of conflict and to quantify associated economic losses. The data collected through questionnaires revealed that farmers’ average age is 57 years old with primary education and with average sizes of nine members in the family. Land holdings averaged 7.34 acres (valued at Rs. 24 lakh/acre). Seven conflict types were documented, with animal theft (20 cases) being most prevalent, followed by honor killings, land disputes and grazing conflicts. These conflicts resulted in 229 injuries, 10 fatalities, and 15 cattle stolen, causing economic losses of Rs. 1.07 crore (injuries) and Rs. 9.65 lakh (livestock). The findings underscore the urgent need for government intervention through strict laws and awareness campaigns via workshops and media to mitigate the conflicts and socioeconomic stability to protect farming communities.
