Abstract

The Holy Quran is the last divine book revealed by Allah, which was revealed to the last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Holy Quran, keeping in mind the importance of reason and reasoning, not only drew people's attention to it, but also praised and supported the correct use of reason. The Holy Quran, along with moral, social, political, individual, and collective instructions, also eloquently describes beliefs, theology, and metaphysical matters. In this regard, the Holy Quran did not limit itself to merely stating or reporting beliefs, but along with stating beliefs, it also focused on their affirmation and for this, it has adopted such a unique rational method of reasoning that the intellect has no choice but to accept it. This rational method of reasoning of the Holy Quran has been explained in great detail by Ibn Taymiyyah in his books. Along with explaining the rational method of the Quran, he has also clearly revealed the mistakes and absurdity of the Greek rational method.
This paper presents a brief but comprehensive review of this unique rational reasoning style of the Quran in the light of Ibn Taymiyyah's thoughts. This paper presents the principles underlying the reasoning style of the Quran.
