Abstract

Bicycle suspension systems enhance ride comfort and handling by absorbing vibrations from uneven terrain. Key components include springs, dampers, suspension forks, and linkages. Springs, often made of stainless steel, provide shock absorption, while dampers control compression and rebound to prevent excessive oscillations. Front and rear suspensions improve stability, traction, and control, especially on rough surfaces. Modern designs offer adjustable damping and spring rates for customized performance. Advanced systems use linkages and pivot points to refine responses, with lightweight, corrosion-resistant materials ensuring durability. Analytical tools, such as Python simulations, optimize configurations by predicting performance under varying conditions. This integration of mechanical components and precise tuning ensures a smoother, safer ride across diverse terrains.
