Precision medicine, which tailors medical decisions and treatments to individual patients, is becoming a cornerstone of advanced healthcare. This field heavily relies on stem cell research and pharmacogenomics, offering novel therapeutic strategies. As integral healthcare team members, pharmacists must be well-versed in the genetic factors influencing drug responses and the potential applications of stem cells in precision medicine. However, current pharmacy education often lacks sufficient integration of these rapidly evolving biomedical sciences. This narrative review delves into the current status of pharmacy education, identifying gaps and highlighting the opportunities for integrating stem cell studies in links with pharmacogenomics. It advocates for a pharmacy curriculum that equips pharmacy students with basic knowledge in these areas and fosters skills essential for applying knowledge in clinical practice, including critical thinking and analytical skills. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study assesses existing gaps in pharmacy training and examines case studies from universities that have successfully integrated pharmacogenomics and regenerative medicine into their curricula. To conclude, by bridging these educational gaps, this initiative aims to equip future pharmacists with the competencies necessary to navigate the evolving landscape of personalized therapeutics.
