Abstract

Liver is an outstanding and cost-effective source of nearly all biological molecules, including both essential and non-essential amino acids, long-chain omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, as well as a variety of vitamins and minerals. The most common sources of liver are cattle, pigs, chicken, and sea animals like cod fish. The liver also provides vitamins A, B, and C. Although the liver as a food provides many macro and micro nutrients to humans but there are many side effects of liver consumption as well, such as Vitamin A overdosing during pregnancy and different diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob’s disease, which are considered to be transferred by consuming the liver of infected animals. The present study gathered information related to vitamin A overdosing and other diseases due to liver consumption during pregnancy.
