Abstract

The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in Pakistan provides a habitat for several migratory species of Odonates. Nevertheless, the district of Swat has suffered from significant neglect and little exploration as a result of the unpredictable terrain in the region. The present research aims to address this knowledge gap by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the habitat, condition, and associated hazards in the region from a broad perspective. A total of 941 adult specimens were recorded, yielding 28 species under 24 genera and eight families of Anisoptera and Zygoptera. The results of this study can be helpful in designing measures for the survival and protection of Odonates in the mountains of Swat Pakistan.
