Abstract

Copyright is the fundamental part of the protection of intellectual property act 2012, as copyright is one of the most ancient types of the intellectual property, and the history of the field of writing and publication is very old. Therefore better legislation for copyright was also done in the first place while other laws and legislation were put into action in order to explain the need of the new legislation as per development and progress in the field of writing and publication resulting in more and more classes and genres within this huge field. The rights of an author in copyright act and the other acts of protection of intellectual property bear absolute resemblance, meaning that these rights are nearly same. The right to write your intellectual property i.e. writing books, research paper and articles etc. The author has the right of owning it as the author's personal intellectual property, the right to publish, the right to reorder and the right to edit. In favors of these laws and legislation from our sharia’s point of view, the protections of these rights are safeguarded by Quran and Sunnah, in the light of which the rights of an author are guaranteed. Giving sole credit to the writer of his writing, the right to publish, the right to edit from time to time and in case of any impudence or fraud, the right of the author to fight for his right legally. These all right are guaranteed by strong accounts and arguments by the Sharī᾽a to the owner/author of the intellectual property similar to the protection offered by the copyright and other acts of intellectual property protection
