Abstract

The Quranic term "Ahl-e-Bait" stands for Prophet Muhammad (peace be uponhim) and his family specifically. Who will be included in "Ahl-e-Bait"? It has a bigdifference of opinion among the Muslim scholars throughout Islamic history.Some scholars include only Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)'s wivesand some children of Prophet. This article is an attempt to find out the actualmeaning of "Ahl-e-Bait" and its application.
