Abstract

Dr. Malik Hassan Akhtar is a renowned researcher and a critic of Urdu literature. His voluminous work has been recognized in Pakistan and across the border as a valuable contribution especially in the field of Iqbaliat. He has worked on intellectual and spiritual inspiration of Iqbal from various Muslim scholars and Sufis including Imam Malik, Hallaj, Ibne Arbi, Usman Hajvery, Aljeli, Rumi and others. But he is spiritually inspired from Rumi most of all. Dr. Malik Hassan Akhtar has produced a detailed and in-depth treatise on this topic while meeting the international standards of research.
