Abstract

The paper aims to investigate the Compressive Coverage of Legal Deposit Statutory Law on Thesis and Dissertation for Open Access Digital Repository by the National Library of Nigeria. Quantitative methodology was adopted using a cross-sectional survey strategy. The study found that types of intellectual resources are covered with legal deposit statutory law by the National Library of Nigeria among others were print information resources, references information resources, serial information resources, thesis and dissertation information resources, etc. The Extent to which the adoption of legal deposit statutory law in Nigeria facilitates the Use of Thesis and Dissertations for Open Access Digital Repositories, is very high and positive, especially as the cumulative mean level of 4.437 is higher than the decision mean of 3.000, the challenges found in the study were Lack of Clear Policy for Legal Deposit Statutory Law on Thesis and Dissertation; Lack of Awareness Surrounding Thesis and Dissertation Policy; Lack of Skilled Staff for Adoption of Open Access; Lack of Clear Policy Statement on Due Time for collection.
