Abstract

Imprisonment as punishment has many objects; one of its main objects is the rehabilitation and correction of the law breakers because of their relationship in the form of society. It is very important for not producing more criminals from their families due to the negative impacts of imprisonment and as well as to develop them as good citizen after release. To accept reformation during imprisonment, willingness is the foremost condition and willingness usually considered as coming from religious education. Therefore, the effectiveness of religious education is beneficial for societal peace. The details of religious affairs in prison is also given in jail manual, furthermore surveys also guide in this respect. Famous religious scholars can also educate the prisoners in jail after proper permission. While the opportunities for prisoners to preach themselves are very limited and conditioned. Religious officers are appointed in every prison. However all these activities are not providing required concequnces. That is why anarchy is increasing in society. Better results can be achieved with better focus on such activities. So it is needed to implement the religious activities properly in jails. Islamic teachings can prove that spreading of religious knowledge would make very best results in reforming inmates.
