Children's Literature is a Creative text that carry linguistic experiences, directed to children, intended for social, psychological, pedagogical, artistic and aesthetic education, as well as scientific, intellectual and linguistic development and levels of imagination, by providing a linguistic experience that is appropriate to the child's age and cognitive level, in a beautiful, interesting and appropriate manner.
Children's literature is a religious and moral necessity, and a necessary condition for the desired cultural and educational development. It is the first building block for raising a child and teaching him the basics of life and human knowledge.
This type of literature provides the child with a diverse world that expands his horizons of thinking, develops his linguistic abilities, guides him to scientific explanations for the universe and its phenomena, and correct information about every art and science, and keeps him away from superstitions and nonsense that are far from science, logic, and common sense.
This literature also keeps pace with the child’s nature and his tendency to emulate, imitate, refining himself and moving him from isolated subjectivity to broad sociality.
Especially in this era that is witnessing the information revolution, all positive and negative information is available to the child with the click of a button, and therefore it is necessary and obligatory for society and writers to devote their attention to the child and what is related to his upbringing and literature.
This article deals a great knight of this field, who is Yeqoob Ash-Sharooni. He is one of the pioneers of children’s literature in the Arab world. He wrote many stories, plays, and novels for children. In this research, I chose his story “Goblins of Midnight” as an example of his narrative literature presented to children.
