ABSTRACT Economical and pathological review of shisham plantations is often carried out as part of the working of forest/plant pathologists and encomiasts multidisciplinary team meetings. This review describes the author's experience regarding the major issues identified during this process. Current research article covers; actual problems in shisham plantations and reason of controversy in pathology of dieback disease in Punjab (province), Pakistan. This review is intended to be of practical use to the foresters and pathologists reporting shisham dieback disease. Key words: Shisham, dieback disease, plantations, forest.
