Abstract

ABSTRACT The literature on various diseases of mulberry, from throughout the world has been reviewed. This paper reviews available information on a number of mulberry diseases and their casual organisms comprising fungi, viruses, bacteria and phanerogamic parasites. Mulberry mosaic virus was found to cause heavy reduction in leaf yield and distortion in the cocoons with inferior silk when silk worms were fed on infected leaves.
