Abstract

ABSTRACT The oil extracted from the fruits of bitter variety of Prunus amygdalus was analysed for its physico-chemical constants and the fatty acid composition. It was found to be a typical semidrying oil comparing favourably with oils from warmer climates but less unsaturated than the English oils. The HCN content of the oil was also investigated.
