This research investigates the interplay between leadership behavior (LEB) and lecturers' job satisfaction (LEJS) in the context of Indonesian universities, with a specific focus on the moderating effect of educational quality management (EQM). Utilizing data collected from instructors in both public and private universities, this cross-sectional study employs quantitative research techniques to analyze the relationship between these variables.
The findings reveal a positive and significant impact of leadership behavior on lecturers' job satisfaction. Moreover, the study demonstrates that both leadership behavior and lecturers' job satisfaction are positively and significantly moderated by educational quality management. This underscores the crucial role of EQM in shaping the relationship between leadership behavior and job satisfaction among lecturers.
This research contributes to the existing literature by extending the understanding of the dynamics between leadership behavior, job satisfaction, and educational quality management, particularly by highlighting the moderating effect of EQM. By shedding light on this underexplored aspect, the study serves as a pioneering effort in advancing knowledge in this domain.
Furthermore, the implications of the research findings extend to policy makers and educational regulatory bodies, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership behavior in enhancing lecturers' job satisfaction. Recognizing the potential long-term benefits of increased job satisfaction, such as higher retention rates and greater organizational commitment, underscores the significance of investing in strategies to promote positive leadership practices within educational institutions.
