Abstract

This paper examines the effects that workplace stressors have regarding the mental well-being and job marketability of graduate students focusing on the effects that entrepreneurship training, family support, and social interconnections have on these factors. The study design involves a broad study design wherein a source of illegal work is considered as independent variable, effort-reward imbalance, toxic workplace environments, and work-family conflict as mediators, and finally, anxiety and depression as dependent variables. Unit of analysis will include 400 graduate learners who will be chosen based on the convenience sampling methodologies to guarantee a feasible and convenient method of selecting participants. The study hypothesis is that the influence of exposure to illegitimate tasks- tasks that have been perceived as unnecessary or unreasonable, cause an increase in effort-reward imbalance, toxic workplace environment, and the Work family conflict, which further contribute to the increase in the state of anxiety and depression among graduate students. It is suggested that family support should be influential in developing resilience and confidence, and good social networks can offer a worthwhile networking experience and advice on careers. Also, there can be an entrepreneurial mindset, which can serve as a facilitator, by enhancing the positive influence of education, support, and contacts on the employability. It is hoped that the results will advance the knowledge of the effects of workplace stressors on the mental well-being and career of the graduate students and how the entrepreneurial education and support systems could neutralize these factors. The identification of the importance of each variable in connection with employability is supposed to inform the preparation of educational policies and practices, which would allow graduate students to be better prepared to face modern difficulties of the workforce.
