Creativity and innovation have been tremendously intensifying since the last century.  To think outside the box has become fundamental in a fast-paced, and rapidly transforming world. The relationship between the structure and creative discourse, and the study of the style allows different interpretations. This study delves deep into the intricate details of foregrounding features using the lens of deviation and parallelism to conduct a comparative analysis between traditional and kinetic poetry in the selected poems, l(a (1958), and am was (1954), by Cummings. This study focuses on the foregrounded features such as deviation and parallelism using the theory of Advanced Stylistics by Leech (1969). The findings of this study contributed to the understanding of deviation and parallelism used in the selected poems, to foreground the message for the reader’s attention towards the poems’ theme. In addition, the traditional poem has the occasional deviation, whereas kinetic poetry foregrounds the message by deviation in its structure with more focus on visual representation.
