Background: This research aims to investigate the relationship of organizational justice with organizational citizenship behavior, the mediating effect of organizational commitment between organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior, among the teaching faculty of higher educational institutions of Punjab, Pakistan.
Methods: This survey-based study was conducted in selected higher educational institutions of Punjab, Pakistan. The data was collected from 284 respondents of selected universities who completed the questionnaire used for analysis by using SPSS 25 and (SEM AMOS) software.
Results: The results of the research revealed a significantly positive relationship of organizational citizenship behavior with both oranizational justice and organizational commitment. Furthermore, a mediating relationship or organizational commitment has been proven significant between the relationship of organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior.
Contribution: This study is one of the few studies conducted in this field and will help the management and policy makers of higher educational institutions in Punjab, Pakistan, to transform and encourage fair practices (OJ) to enhance discretionary work behavior (OCB) among faculty members to enhance organization performance.
